Fertility Affirmations, How To Make Them Work For You

Using Fertility Affirmations, But Do They Actually Work?

The answer is both yes and no.

First let me explain what affirmations are:  affirmations are positive statements used to empower you and awaken your true self and direct your self talk in a more positive direction. Affirmations when used properly can help you to create opportunities for growth and create a more positive mindset.

While there is not much we can control amid a fertility treatment cycle, our attitude is something we can.  So why do I think they don’t work…

Let's take a closer look:

Affirmations don’t work if you do not believe it for your life, you could say every affirmation all day with no results. When it fails you will think, "well that was a waste of time, and these don’t really work."  Affirmations are not just something you say and then you magically you get a result. However, I do believe that if you choose the right affirmations for you, something that is achievable and realistic you have a greater chance of making affirmations work for you..

There are a few steps I want to share with you that will help you choose the right affirmation and make them work for your life.

How Do I Make Affirmations Work For Me?

Well, there are three steps.

Step 1: Keeping It Real

Pick one you believe to be true for you or one you want to manifest for your life.  Make it something realistic or achievable for you.

Step 2: Consider The Wording

Use present tense language; if you set your affirmation in the past, that is where it will stay. If you set your affirmation in the future, guess where it will be, just out of reach in the future.

One way to formulate your affirmation is to begin your affirmation with “I” then choose a present tense verb.  Maintain a positive tone when writing your affirmation and remember to keep it short.

Examples of affirmations

  • I am enough.

  • I now choose positive thoughts.

  • I trust this is the right path for me.

  • I allow myself to receive.

  • I accept myself as I am.

  • I deserve to be loved.

Step 3: Take Action

Create some self-awareness around the affirmation. Notice when you are acting in support of or against your affirmation. For example,

If I choose the affirmation "I now choose positive thoughts." I would notice when I was thinking not-so-positive thoughts and replace those thoughts with something to support my affirmation.

It may sound like this in my head:

Why is everything so hard? Notice the thought

Replace it with. I am successful in all that I do.

See now that you took action on the affirmation you chose.

I have been using affirmations for years and have found them to be another tool in my backpack to help to motivate me to action.

How Do I Use Affirmations

There are many ways to use affirmations, write them down, say them outloud, keep an affirmation journal here are some of my favorite was to use affirmation.
